Architect of CIA torture program claims that release of Senate report put his life in danger. Bummer.

Courtesy of TWC Central:

The "architect" of the CIA's interrogation program, James Mitchell, accused Senate Democrats of putting his life in danger last week when they released a report detailing the program's "brutal" abuses.

"They issue this report that essentially stirs up all the crazies and all the jihadists. So now we're getting death threats," Mitchell, a retired Air Force psychologist, said during a Monday night Fox News interview.

"I'm angry about this. They have a foregone conclusion. They put my life in danger. They put the lives of other CIA personnel ... and our families in danger for some sort of morale high ground?" he said. "You can probably tell I'm a little agitated by this. For me, I don't want to die because the Democrats in the Senate don't have the courtesy to ask the CIA to explain what they view as abuses that occurred."

Hang on I'm going to try and gin up a little sympathy.

Nope, don't give a shit.

The Uniform Code of Justice says that military personnel have a duty to disobey unlawful orders.

As a former member of the Air Force this guy should have known that. And as a human being he should have done that.

I believe this should be "...to DISOBEY unlawful orders."

  4. Beige is purple in these psychopath's world.

Does this Mitchell cretin even get that outside the fact that
it is evil, sadistic and sub human to torture people
the consequences in the real world fall back on you when you participate in morally wrong and illegal actions?
They also fall back on our troops and innocent people
    connected to the torturers. Why?

Because torture is wrong. There is never a reason to do it.
And anyone who does it or defends it is a sick twist.

We have some extremely unwell people in this country
parroting effed up torture talking points--mostly republicans of course, because they have become degenerates. And lets face it---when you start using Deadeye Dick Cheney as a template for defending this nightmare, you have already lost big time.

I saw where 51% of Americans approved of using torture! I am beyond disgusted with this. What in the world is wrong with Americans?

Sean Hannity sang the praises of waterboarding to the point of calling it "dunking". He even promised to undergo a "dunking" for charity years ago. I guess his schedule has just been too busy for the past five years to keep his word. Such a Fox Icon would never be caught in a lie or be a coward...

Your life isn't in danger because they released the report:
your life is (rightfully) in danger because YOU CAUSED PEOPLE TO BE TORTURED!

    Karma's a bitch, man...

The information in the Senate report was already very familiar to the jihadists around the world. The only people who were in the dark were the US citizens. The report only shows that it wasn't just the low level guards at Abu Gharib who were torturing the inmates per the photos released several years ago - the top people including Cheney and friends were the real instigators.

Wonderful! Another whining dickhead. Ohhhh noooo, I'm so sorry I got caught. Poor me. Deal with it asshole, YOU did it. Can you at least try to act like a man and a human?

You fucking freaks put every single soldier we'll have for decades in danger. And you didn't care while you were doing it. Why do you care now? Maybe it will be your children and grandchildren that will be tortured because of YOU.

There's the bible verse, "he who lives by the sword, dies by the sword". I suppose that could suggest that those who would do bad things to others, will likely have bad things done back. It's not a spiritual law as much as it is a humanistic law.

If people engage in hurting, or using torture on others, they have to believe that it might come back to haunt them. If they entangle themselves in drunken brawls, at some point in their lives, they'll probably have drunk people ruin their parties; just because they choose to be with drunken people. It's the result and consequence of 'choice'. The bible also says God will be merciful to the merciful.

Did this Mitchell think being part of this activity wouldn't sow things that he reaps now?

It's unfortunate that he has been receiving threats, for doing his job. But, he might have chosen the wise venue in his job and remembered the 'do unto others as you would have them do to you'. It really works.

Even better, this monster was a Mormon Bishop at the time he was designing the torture program. He was pressured into quitting, by the LDS church who felt that his new "profession" MIGHT reflect badly on the church. Ya Think?

He's still a faithful member of the LDS church. Guess they need to have an experienced parishioner when they take over the country & inflict their theocracy making it legal to kill/torture "the gays."

      You left out the part

"A Spokane psychologist who helped develop controversial interrogation methods, which some human rights groups say amount to torture, became the new spiritual leader of a Mormon congregation on the South Hill this week.

Bruce Jessen was proposed by Spokane Stake President James Lee, or “called” in the terminology of the Mormon faith, to be the bishop of Spokane’s 6th Ward, approved by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints hierarchy in Salt Lake City and presented to the congregation on Sunday. He was unanimously accepted by some 200 in attendance, Lee said.

As a bishop – an unpaid, part-time position that usually lasts several years – Jessen will take confessions and help people with their personal problems, Lee said. “They just try to help people with their lives, marriages or finances,” he said.

The appointment surprised some groups who have denounced Jessen and his then-partner James Mitchell for techniques they helped develop for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency to interrogate suspected terrorists after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Among those techniques were sleep deprivation and waterboarding, according to a 2009 U.S. Senate committee report."

Wonder if he is licensed in WA? I wonder if his "professional" associates feel their profession is besmirched? I wonder if he has any further professional contracts within the correctional industries within the US?

BOO F¥CKING HOO! He is scared for his life? What does he think the victims of his dreamt-up torture were? They had a REASON for being scared for their lives, and they mostly did not deserve ANY of the treatment they got - not even being captured in the first place (because many of them got 'fingered' by their neighbors who did not like them for whatever reason, but not because they were associated with the terrorists!).

The minute these ....words fail me...people said that torture was okay, they condemned every military person to the same possibility if captured. I have NO sympathy for this individual and his ilk.

I really feel sorry for this guy.

Just as soon as he gets a few anal feedings and spends a few hours in fake coffins with real bugs.

Done by his former adversaries just so it's real for him.

    In an undisclosed foreign country.

After he's had psychotropic drugs shoved up his ass and been put in diapers for the trip.

And had his family threatened with the same.

Maybe his grandsons testicles could be threatened with crushing by Yoo know who.

And after all that, and as soon as he gives back his anal rape millions and all the BUSCHCO CIA get out of jail cards in his possession.

And he personally apologizes to all the low echelon pogues who went to jail for Abu Ghraib while little dick cheeeny and dumbya lied their asses off to the 'murrican people. And little dickless daughter cheeeny seditiously cheered them on.

Fuck yeah! Bring on Jebbie Bush. What more could go wrong?

Going to throw in my 2 cents here but all this happened after 9/11 when we were attacked ON OUR SOIL. I would have been happy to help with the waterboarding. How easy it is for everyone to declare how terrible it was. Remember the pictures of those planes smashing into the Towers, or how about the Pentagon or maybe the plane in PA that had the passengers on it that knew they were going to crash. It doesn't happen anymore so let it go. But they are doing worse things to Americans .
