Elizabeth Warren's 11 Commandments for Progressives. Oh yeah!

Courtesy of Vox:

  1.  "We believe that Wall Street needs stronger rules and tougher enforcement, and we're willing to fight for it."
  2. "We believe in science, and that means that we have a responsibility to protect this Earth."
  3. "We believe that the Internet shouldn't be rigged to benefit big corporations, and that means real net neutrality."
  4. "We believe that no one should work full-time and still live in poverty, and that means raising the minimum wage."
  5. "We believe that fast-food workers deserve a livable wage, and that means that when they take to the picket line, we are proud to fight alongside them."
  6. "We believe that students are entitled to get an education without being crushed by debt."
  7. "We believe that after a lifetime of work, people are entitled to retire with dignity, and that means protecting Social Security, Medicare, and pensions."
  8. "We believe—I can't believe I have to say this in 2014—we believe in equal pay for equal work."
  9. "We believe that equal means equal, and that's true in marriage, it's true in the workplace, it's true in all of America."
  10. "We believe that immigration has made this country strong and vibrant, and that means reform."
  11. "And we believe that corporations are not people, that women have a right to their bodies. We will overturn Hobby Lobby and we will fight for it. We will fight for it!"

You know after reading that I want Warren to be Hillary's running mate in 2016 do badly I can taste it.

Damn that's good stuff!

I don't want her to be the VP candidate. She is doing too much good in Congress. We need her there.

Let's keep the majority in the Senate and give her and the other Dems in the Senate a Democratic House that actually works. Just think about how much they could accomplish!

The Clintons are incredibly wealthy people who move in the circles of the same wealthy and powerful people who have inordinate control over our democracy and society, they are friends and peers with them…so is it most likely that if elected, she’s going to hammer her best friends to help “the others”?

Her quickness and lack of hesitation or conscience to spin and stab Obama in the back as referenced at the top of this article and her dishonesty about her and Bill leaving the White House “dead broke” revive that creepy feeling in me that I had about her in 2008…that she may be what we used to call…”A Republican”.

How about one more, having the balls to come out and say it is time to end the big corporate, big government, militarized, racially biased, irrational, perpetual, war on drugs.

Regardless Gryph, with all respect, Warren says a lot of things that all sound good, maybe or maybe not she means it- I'd certainly like to think she does. However Clinton is a corporate lap dog thru and thru- always has been, always will be, don't kid yourself. The duo would not be compatible, and will not happen for that very reason if Warren is true to what she says.

    1. I'd like to see an end to subsidies and tax breaks for big corporations.

But at some point, you have to stop or you have a laundry list.

    1. YES! Where is a list like this from Hillary?? -- also, and this is my prediction: She will not live to run in 2016.
I do believe she has serious health problems. I think Warren knows this and will be primed to take over.

I would vote for Warren before Clinton who is too "old boy" network for me.

She did Martin Luther one better. She stuck the what does this mean into the commandment. Most excellent, said the girl who was catechized with Luther's Small Catechism on her shoes for crib notes.

  10. When you consider how the "other" side has hamstrung President Obama, being the HBIC isn't all that attractive. Leave Elizabeth Warren right where she is, in the Senate, where she has the opportunity to develop as a real leader in the necessary evolution of Congress as a true legislative body

DITTO. 1%-er Hillary would be no different from Obama in too many ways - Bank/Corporation/Wall Street-coddling and NSA-enabling, I am so over the Clintons, both of them. If Warren won't run, and she sounds serious about not doing so, I hope Clinton decides not to run either. After the Trojan horse inhabitant Obama turned out to be, I hesitate to state any preferences, because I don't trust any of them. But we DO know what we'd be getting with Hillary and I don't want it.

    3. Who else is there? -- the Dems should be concerned there is not a high-profile fighter (outside of Warren) to run if Hillary doesn't live to 2016.

If she does & looks weakened over the grueling years of running -- and continues to have no "common-touch" platform (as does Warren) she will not win and then we have a REAL problem. Progressives are screwed. The Supreme Court will be Right-Wing for decades... so much for Roe v. Wade, Obamacare, etc., etc.

Separation of church and state -- what little there is now will disappear.

Hilary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren - dream team for 2016 !

OT - - I know you won't be able to answer this directly, so I am hoping you can tell us a "fictional" tale (changing names etc.) at some point when it is safe to reveal the "fictional" corruption -- I know many of us are concerned for Malia - her safety and her family's safety is the most important thing. Is there anything we can do ? Were the threats she received related to the post she took down and/or the Palin's ? It breaks my heart that the government could be this corrupt that a person who is willing to keep fighting for the truth is threatened. I know we can't speculate about Shailey - I wish her only the very best for her and her children. (But we all have eyes and a brain - and know what was scheduled on that date that it happened - we may not be able to say anything but the truth HAS to be kept alive and be revealed some day - at least I have to believe that in order to sleep at night). Are you safe ? Feels so helpless that there isn't more we can do except offer words of support and encouragement and gratitude for all you and Malia have done and keep on doing.

    1. Sorry to be a wet blanket, but I think Hillary has a much better chance of winning with a male running mate. Voters that might not vote for a women will vote for her if she has a male VP. My rule of thumb is you don't vote for the President, you vote for the Vice President, just in case something happens.

Two women on the ticket weakens Hillary's chance of winning, no matter who it is.

Right now, Elizabeth is more valuable right where she is. What we need to do is give her a Democratic majority in the Senate and the House.

      That makes Hobby Lobby FASCISTS!

and… while they pretend to be pro life (where controlling their employees is concerned) they are not at all in their investments. And their arguments (which the Stupid-5 on SCOTUS didn't question) were anti science.

Pelosi, Ellison, and Warren would set the Democrats back another 20 years. Most of the attention needs to be spent on the working Americans. These are the Americans who want to work and carry their own weight. The people who were once the backbone of the Democratic Party.
